The bumper sticks out way too much. It is a simple job to be able to push it back a few inches and change the whole look of the car. / eldestbuilds The Facebook page is up and running.
I thought about doing the bumper tuck myself until I removed the trim strip. Long short, I changed a lot of things in the end over a period of 5 years so far. Car currently has or will have - Carbon roof, manual windows, Tillett carbon shell seats, fully debumpered, screw-in tow eyes, Hella 80mm fixed position projector headlamps x4, modified Serie Speciale air dam, customised series 1 indicators, custom grille, horn outlets blanked off. I also got rid of the original open diff, gearbox internals bar 5th, distributor, speedo cable drive, fuel system, inlet and exhaust manifolds, camshaft, tach, speedo, wheels, and a ton of redundant wiring. Fitted instead : Jenvey 40mm individual throttle bodies, Bosch wasted spark ignition, Omex stand alone ECU, Bacci lockers, Bacci close ratios, Bayless high pressure fuel tank, Kent cam & adjustable pulley, custom exhaust, custom inlet, big valves, 11:1 compression, flowed head, portmatched, lightened and balanced rods, crank, flywheel, fly cut pistons, Image billet ultralite rims, Gaz coilivers, Faulkner springs, SPA tach and speedo, Sassone clutch.
@@ELDESTBuilds hope you get inspired and yes, imo white is the best colour for an X1/9, I'm envious because in the UK white was an option and it's very rare to find a late production example in white.
