Looks good. I did the same to mine about ten years ago. I don't know why the factory didn't do this. The hood and intake were designed for each other. Someone committed if it made a difference. Yes. Forsure. For us, it would be like running and only using your nose for oxygen. Being able to open your mouth makes getting oxygen faster and much more efficient. If that makes sense. I fully cut mine out after tracing it with a dremel and using a door gasket from Honda. Cut it to size for a tight seal, and looks good. Thanks for the videos.
May looks like a dumb question. The hole in the hood, when it is closed, does not match the holes you are opening. Why the people opens a big hole as it is matching the one in the hood if they don’t match? I just did it on mine as you said but I have another idea I will post later
It does match the hole in the hood if you look close at the video you can even see the dirt ring left by the hood around the three circles that I drilled. Is it the same size opening, no I didn't feel the need for an exact fit I just wanted cold air to come into the opening. So I guess I don't understand why you say that?
Honestly I have'nt really noticed much of a difference but I live in the south and it's very hot, I'm hoping to notice something as soon as we get cooler weather I think it will pick up a couple horse power I know my bike does.
@@84c4corvetteguy5 I’ve heard anything from better temperatures, too slightly more torque. But it’s never both at the same time. Your channel is saving my life with my 84. Keep going. I have coolant, disappearing somewhere that I’ll be troubleshooting this week. Hoping it’s not a head gasket. Wish me luck.
@@KyleDoesDrums So you're defintely putting colder air to the air cleaner/intake but the engine really does'nt perform better until that cold air gets in the 70's and 60's and the humidity drops then you will defintely feel it come alive but I think under hood tempatures don't change much every time I lift the hood it's over 200 degrees but that is normal for that car. Good luck finding your coolant leak hopefully it will be something easy and thanks for your support!
