General overview and start-up. Carbureted, with an electric starter, first year of the Evolution (EVO) engine. - 760 lbs. - 80 cubic inches (1340 cc) - 64 Horsepower - 5 gallon capacity - 5-speed - 94 MPH top speed
Nice. I don't remember that instrument pod with the windshield. My 1973 FLH only had the tank speedometer. My 1988 FLHTC has the instruments in the batwing fairing. I remember the 1980s Tour Glides with the frame mounted fairing had the handlebar mounted instrument pod. Yours sounds great. I love the slow loping idle sound, but I set my idle at 1000 rpm because that is supposed to provide better oil pressure.
hi brad. nice classic you have there. I wouldn't leave choke on while warming the bike up. use it just to start it up and use throttle screw to complete warm up. the bikes are notorious for fouling plugs. thanx for keeping the "evos" alive
Thanks for the tip, Billy! I sold this last fall to a local guy who planned on riding it to Sturgis this year... didn't stay in touch to find out if it happened. But I'll remember this for the next oldie I get -- this was my first.
