The little boy at 25 seconds is 14 year old Paul Edmondson. Two years later he was riding in the Six Days and went on to win a record 17 gold medals and 4 world championships.
I didn't know Rond and Van der Ven did the ISDE (or was it still the ISDT then?). After I retired from MX I ran enduro's and remember the stress when your minute came up and your bike wouldn't start. You could see the possibility of being late at the first check and having your day ruined right off the bat. All in all I enjoyed enduro's more than MX but both were big-time fun. Thanks for posting this, brought back good memories.
