They had something special that happens only once in a lifetime. I’ve seen some amazing routines by other figure skaters, but Torvill and Dean will never be bettered. I love that their parents were so down to earth - just decent, unassuming northern people. No wonder Jane and Chris have always been so well grounded. It’s great that these performances are available on RU-vid to be enjoyed over and over again.
I don't think anyone will ever REALLY equal the beautiful artistry and elegance of these two in Ice Dancing. I'm sure the technical difficulty of what they're doing is impossible for non skaters to even understand! Sometimes their skates are so close together that I'm in awe they were able to pull it off. The smoothness and almost perfection in going into and out of their lifts is unmatched. I often come here to RU-vid to watch them (and others) just to watch their skating and watch something truly beautiful.
They have been the best, still are and will be forever. Greatest art on ice ever. Thank you and God may bless you for all the joy you gave to all of us. THANK YOU!
They were so amazing, I often watch them over and over again and it,s 2021. How they could skate that close together without getting their feet tangled up and killing each other never ceases to amaze me.
One of my top favourite dances by Torvill and Dean. I remember watching this with my lovely late hubby and our children. We all loved them so much. This is a winner!
They were already world champions but this was the one which brought ice dancing into the public consciousness and made them household names. People forget that, until then, ice dancing was done in disjointed segments, often with varying music. Apart from the outstanding choreography and technical excellence, this was a cohesive and dramatic performance which included the emotional, not just technical, element of dance.

Whoever did the choreography was brilliant! Perfectly captured the style and feeling of the era, and, of course, perfectly executed! I’ve watched their routines many times over, and they thrill me and move me just as much as the original viewing. I liken them to the Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers of the ice, partly because it has always fascinated me how the universe brings together such perfectly matched pairs! The odds of finding one’s perfect compliment in such endeavors seems astronomical, but I’m so grateful it happens.
About nine years ago I started watching ice skating and I truly am fascinated and Amazed by the balance and beauty and you guys are absolutely my favorites
... before them ice dancing was very one-dimensional, they came along and added many more Dimensions to it, making the sport much more interesting than it was before... They took ice dancing and really shook it up and something much better emerged after them
And little did they know that there children would become ice skating royalty where's no one would ever come close to being as in sync and as magical and as or inspiring as them such a treat to watch
I remember seeing them when they performed in Auckland, New Zealand many years ago. Something like 30 years now! They changed ice dancing forever, that's how big their impact was.
Благодарю Вас Дай Бог Вам Здоровья и Удачи во всем Счастья Любви Радости вам всего доброго и хорошего в жизни. Огромное спасибо Вам за прекрасное видео и Танцы Шедевр.
Simply Amazing!!! I just love this routine and to me it is one of their best if not the very best. My favorite part is their end to the "train" section where they just turn around and kick off in the other direction---stupendous!
Their choice of the perfect piece of music to inspire them, that the public would forever identify with them was one of their best moves even before they get on the ice. So expressive. Who can ever forget the imagery of the train?
Yes, the artistry is so good I think people don't realise just how technically HARD this was. The edges are flawless, the turns perfect, and their blades are less than two inches apart in some sections, the degree of control and complete unison required is incredible.
