If lived in the UK and close to Sangat, I would have THROWN myself into activism for the Panth/Dharam! I am a white lady with no ancestral ties to Sikhi, from the north of Norway where there is literally NO Sangat, and I do Ardaas every day to Guroo Gobind Singh Jee Maharaj to please bless this body/mind with the opportunity to contribute to the Sangarsh as much as possible. The compulsory orders by the state is very interesting. I had a feeling about this in the very late 1990s when walking around the gardens adjacent to the Darbur Sahib. I did think that this was done to make tanks & armoured vehicles more accessible for any future attacks. The areas surrounding the complex was heavily congested with houses & lanes & I think the military suffered heavy casualties even here. When I was there the last time the promenade was not there. Instead you still had those rickety shops selling cheap tea or food which was great. I prefer this. The part about a “Randi” was fascinating & how Sri Harimandar Sahib would be transformed into a fortress. I had heard about this & thought of it only as a folktale. Something which people had said I thought this was just a saying.
I am from Jammu and what happened in 1984 was very wrong. I can't even imagine army going into a temple or a masjid. But I am against partition of India.

@@thebatman3901 it is not possible that the army attacked innocent unarmed people. I believe the genocide that happened in delhi after killing of Indira gandhi was very sad and worst thing in our history.but that was not hindu vs sikh or sikh vs India,,it was sikhs vs gandhi pariwar or CONGRESS

Weapons of the Guru are displayed at Sri Akaal Takhat. The very ethos of Akaal Takhat is to fight against tyrants that too against invaders who gave no warning of attack. No warning to call a truce. Plus 44 other Gurdwaras attacked across Punjab were all the Sikhs in those Gurdwaras also using Guru Sahib as a shield? Indian government white paper July 1984 admits simulatenously attacking 44 other Gurdwaras.
