Was Whitey Herzog the architect of that incredible team build or was it also people in the front office? Because that vision of taking advantage of speed was phenomenal and made the game so much more enjoyable.
This set was a little before my time in collecting, so I love the video because these were harder for me to get when I started collecting in the late 80s. Thanks.
Great video. Yeah I remember that Simpsons episode. I think it was Steve Sax, Wade Boggs, Don Mattingly, Ken Griffey Jnr, Ozzie Smith, Darryl Strawberry, Roger Clemens, Mike Scoscia and Jose Canseco as the star team!
That was a tremendous box! Congratulations to Jared and James! By the way, the Astros' rainbow uniforms also featured numbers on the pants leg. They were the same spot as the White Sox. Probably not a coincidence. Take care of yourself and your family.
Love your videos! Just wanted to put something out there - I know that being in Pittsburgh that you grew up a Pirates fan, but I’m in LA and love the Dodgers! You always just pass over their cards and never show them any love! (Or just ignore their cards). Just an observation not a judgement. Here in LA we love the Dodgers! TGIF to you.
Love the old breaks buddy. Found a slightly torn 74 Hank Aaron for a buck yesterday at an antique mall. Another good seller who has older cards at good prices.
You have some of the coolest contests. Thanks. Those Mattinglys are nice. I think I have a PSA 9 in my collection and I want to go see what that Donruss looks like
My favorite (football) series or whatever is 1989 topps because my favorite player of all time Barry Sanders was a rookie then and so was Deion Sanders who also played baseball
Barry was the best rb of that time much better then emmitt Smith emmitt would get 200 yards in a game cuz of his line Barry would get 200 yards with no help from his line at all
1984 was an incredible year. All big 3 card producers came out with winners. The cards were beautiful. Quality, quality, quality. I thought '83 was good, but '84 one up'd it. '85 was OK too, but I thought Topps lost a step that year.
Absolute proof of bbce re-pack .. Overlook very carefully jabs the part on mattingly to ripken, look at the fold on wax ,and bend to the cards, not all fitting, also, when theese cards were cut they usually all were close to the same in centering throughout entire box
I got a box of those for Christmas that year and scored a Strawberry and two Mattingly cards. I sold one of the Mattingly cards to the owner of my local card shop.
The Don is still my favorite Yankee. Glad to see you did a 1984 box break. Keep up the great videos. I've just started watching your videos and I enjoy them all. I hope this find you well and it's also amazing you bring your kids into collecting as well. God bless
Bud Anderson was my grandfather's name..... the gum card, heh heh. I think that card is still at my grandmother's house! Someone managed to find one somehow..... Weird to find two different packs with both a Mattingly AND a Ripken!
Phils fans were angry when they traded for Diaz as they traded Lonnie Smith for him. Had a good 82 season, so the anger went away. 84 was when I stopped collecting for 20+ years. Nice video
