IN THIS VIDEO WE STICK THE LS ENGINE BACK INTO THE 1985 CHEVY C10. I SPENT A LOT OF TIME TRYING TO MAKE THIS ENGINE THE BEST I KNEW HOW. WE PUT IT IN THE TRUCK AND FIRED IT UP.......AND THEN WE HAD ISSUES.
The part I liked was the concern you have for doing a job properly. The part I dislike was you having to do it twice when it wasn't your fault it didn't work out the first time. Nice work, it's nice to know someone else cares
Really like them old trucks , my dad had one and I would drive one every day , that truck will out last all these new trucks , they sure don’t make them like they used to
I like that there is not alot of "jumk" under the hood. Everything can be seen. No big plastic panel covering a bunch of A.I. bells and whitles tucked so deep inside that unpacking them to find takes more time than repairing.. Technology progress is nice, but sometimes "less is more".
Great video J.C.Smith glad to see this engine back in the pickup. After the rust in the fuel system troubles is fixed sounds great. Hopefully when the test drives are done and all is well. It will be another one for the books of completions. Thanks for sharing stay safe Mr & Mrs J.C.Smith.

Most people think global warming = planet gets warm, we all die in CO2. That's an after effect, in reality GW is the fact that the currents that used to keep the polar region chill in check are unable to work properly anymore. If you imagine the planet, polar region as a focus, there used to be a ring of currents (not perfect, parts of russia and europe weren't as protected) that kept the cold at bay. Now that ring isn't working anymore and the cold region is spilling down towards us like an octopus, completely unstable and difficult to predict outside broad strokes. As a result, seasons get delayed and jumbled. Instead of having 4 seasons, now you have 2. The cold and the hot. Because there's no slow, transition (spring and autumn) anymore, those "octupus tendrills" are moving about erratically and fast. So there's no time for the soil to warm up properly, the water isn't cooling and warming fast enough etc. Here in Europe, one day i was out in shorts, the next day i had to put a beanie and a warm coat and everything was white, after that... the next day it was back to shorts again with 18C weather. :) Now, circling back to "planet gets warm, we all die in CO2", the shituation is like this, because the "octopus" is no longer contained, the poles aren't able to keep that cold in and it spreads to the rest of the planet too fast. The ice caps melt (think of it like your acid battery leaking slowly from a drywall screw at the bottom where Bob put an after market part) and thus those regions warm up. It's gotten so bad up there, that where before (in WW2) to have a convoy pass was through, it was acceptable that outside Germany attacks, people would die and boats would sink. The region was so cold and the water so traitorous that there's basically a line of sunken boats all the way to russia's ports in the north. Nowadays... there's dudes in fiberglass boats doing the passage through that area that you can find on RU-vid. I sh!t you not, there's people making that crossing with yachts as a challenge. Let that sink in. In short, we're very f@cked and it will only get worse. This year is doubly worse because it's Solar max, meaning that our dear sun is on the fritz and is acting like a Latina wife after finding out her husband has been cheating on her and the Chankla is out. :) I expect fires and next "winter" former spring, will be even worse than now.
i am considering a project you might find interesting. it involves a aluminum box frame and similar to the truck you want to build.....only able to be put on one truck or another quickly. i dont want to say too much because im not sure of i can afford it. i might build the first one out of wood. see how it works and what i might need to change. then go all out in aluminum.

i have a engine hoist almost the same had many years was rated 4000# had a 3ton cylinder it finally went bad so went to harbor freight they had a 6ton cylinder for 10 more dollars makes it so much easier to pump but you have to pump twice as much to raise the same amount. so what i did was mount a harbor freight 12v winch on top its a 2500# with wireless remote ran wires down to a battery so now i just set the max height and removed hook at end and cut a slot and installed a pully cable runs from winch to pulley and lifts what i want but it was to fast up and down so installed a small snatch block from tractor supply which cut the speed in half. now if under the car and need to raise or lower just hit button on remote. also when installing engine and you need to pull engine over to clear and you have one hand on engine and other want reach handle now just push button on remote i just love it if they would sell them i bet people would buy them so handy
very handy upgrade for sure. i dont see me needing this anytime soon. in fact i need a much heavier one. i have quite a few engine swaps to do. i normally just use the gradall. forward, back, up down, tilt, left and right in one machine but it takes me doing it. so i cant be at the truck at the same time. have been thinking of a hobo freight winch set up on my forks with a remote as well.
im not gm guy but i have to say....i think this is a very simple and reliable platform. i like it. i would swap one of these into other vehicles with less desirable engines.
