Yep. Along with Eric Singer, Bruce Kulick, and Tommy Thayer. All four are rock solid gentlemen. Never high as a cloud (Ace), never a chronic complainer (Peter), not a histrionic narcissist (Gene, Vinnie), not a melodramatic victim (Paul).
Eric Carr was and is the most beloved member of KISS, not a bad word about him from anyone. It's a shame he always felt like a second string member, when in fact nobody felt that way of him!

This is a blast from the past. I always watched Radio 1990 along with Night Flight. Eric Carr was a fantastic drummer. I saw KISS in 1990 and his drum solo was phenomenal. His arms were a blur. May he rest in peace.
According to Kiss manager Bill Aucoin: "When Kiss took off their make-up and sold fewer and fewer albums, his role was really reduced to that of a hired hand, they cut his salary and shut him out of all the decision-making. It just got more and more borin as time went on, and finally he got the heart problem and underwent surgery. After the operation he called me, I was one of the few he could talk to about everything about Kiss because I knew everything that was going on behind the scenes. He was sad that no one in the band wanted to talk to him anymore, and the worst part was that Gene had called and said they were going to cancel his insurance. He called me right after and asked what he was going to do. He came straight from heart surgery and no insurance company wanted anything to do with him. I asked him if he was sure they had really said that, and he said yes. The following week he died. His parents are still convinced that it was the stress of Gene's phonecall that killed him. It doesn't have to be, of course, but that was as far as it went between Eric and the others. This whole bit of locking someone else out I would never have allowed."

Eric Carr is in my top 5 drummers of all time. Why? I saw KISS half a dozen times and live Eric was money. All around good dude. Jammed on those skins. Straight shooter. I miss his playing and the vibe he brought to the band. RIP EC!

Eric Carr resusitated an ailing KISS especially from the Creatures of the Night album. Kiss taking off their make up in 1983 was a huge gamble. However having a larger than life drummer like Eric Carr gave Kiss life thru the majority of the unmasked period. With his rapport with the fans and being genuinely interested in his audience also wss a huge reason fans hung around. He's very much missed not only for his playing but his personality and cheeky antics. We have videos like this to remind us of your valuable yet short contribution to the music world. RIP Mr Fox. ❤

I know, Eric didn’t have much freedom with Gene and Paul but i noticed in other interviews he did on his own including ones he did with fanzines he was more open and honest about how he felt including one where he said he thought Paul’s solo tour didn’t do very well.
