In this video, I give a tour of my recently completed 1985 Classic SAAB 900 2 - door hatch/ coupe, in S trim, non - turbo. This car is impressive to me, at 36 years old with 220,000+ miles, the car runs and drives very nice, after some work and care of course! I had a 1984 version back in the day. Bought it with over 100,000 miles on it and drove it for another 100k. What always surprised me was that even though it was not a turbo, when you wanted to speed up at highway speeds, that 2.0 liter 4 cylinder was very willing to accelerate. They are also unstoppable in the snow.

Thank you very much for this video. This is truly beautiful car to have and I wish I had one like that. Now I have only 1996 Saab 900 SE which I am very happy to have.

The S had all the higher trim option of the turbo model, except the turbo itself, with leather seats as an option. The S had options that the base did not, such as power windows, moonroof, cruise control, A/C, etc

@@sethsaylor760 While in North America the S was a trim level, here in Europe it was an engine or performance option. It featured a low pressure turbo (LPT) developing about 145 bhp and 202 Nm (149 lb-ft) of torque. The charge pressure was around 0.45 bar (6-7 psi). It didn't have the APC system, intercooler, some solenoid valves and boost gauge. In some European markets and for some model years, many of these 900 S models came with the Aero body kit. The same as on the North American SPGs.
