This was supposed to be the final episode...but the kids who loved this show were disappointed so they ran it for 2 more seasons..this was the last episode of the 1985 season. It ran until July 1, 1987
Also Im sad to say is that The girl who played Jodie On the show passed away here recently at the age of 77. Thank you for all that you have done over the years.
I watched this show all the time back in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s with my parents and loved it. But I had never seen this live stage special before. It was great!
L M right i use to watch this all the time growing up its one of my favorite all time child hood shows of all time. I loved and still love this show???
I was so excited to find this. I remember going to see it. This played on TVO and there is a brief clip of me in the audience. I fully thought I was famous
OMG, I remember watching this on TV in late Nov or early Dec 1985, when my mom flew down to MS to see my very ill grandma, who passed a few weeks later. My brothers loved watching the show too back in the day, though I don't know if I've seen it since.
It took me many searches on RU-vid and the internet to find this show from my childhood. It's one of the first I remember ever watching, but is the one show from my childhood that I have never been able to identify online. I kept googling things like "children's show with man who quit moving when losing his hat" and "puppets." FINALLY, my search has come to an end. It's really cool seeing something I haven't watched since I was probably only three or four years old. Thanks for posting this, RetroTy. Would love to see more if you have it.
An error in this episode during the credits when the limo traveling north on Yonge St past the Eaton Centre towards Dundas Square and at the end when the limo reached the store traveling east on Queen St as the broadcast version was filmed in Hamilton, ON at Hamilton Place Theatre.
I remember watching this when it first came on, and it was a Saturday. I didn't get to watch it all because I was going out shopping with my parents and they wouldn't let me stay home by myself; I was just 10 at the time. I don't think Nickelodeon ever reran the show. Too bad they didn't have a reunion for the show. I would have loved to have seen what everyone looked like after a certain time. I think it came on in 1981.
The end credits had a continuity error. The limo was traveling north on Yonge St past the Eaton Centre and towards Dundas Square and headed to the store near the end of the credits the limo was traveling east on Queen St although the theatre was at the Hamilton Place Theatre in Hamilton, Ontario.
Never did watch this special but as many others have mentioned in the past took many years and RU-vid to find what this show was, all I knew and remember was a manikin who lost hat had lost is hat and had to say the magic words hocus pocus almagoucus
Interesting! I had no clue this was a live stage show. I wonder if this is one of the first stage shows for a kids T.V. Show. It was ahead of its time! ❤️
LOL, so 1980s and I love it and miss those days. Now, we're all grown up and doing adult things. How I wish for one weekend of my 80s childhood again with some of my deceased relatives
