I’m a big police show/detective type show. Also a big football fan. Found this game after watching the U.S Marshall’s police sting. Good documentary, a must watch.

Art Monk was finally inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008. The ultimate clutch receiver.

I was in the military in the mid 80s to early 90s, and missed a lot of these games, so they are new to me. Thanks for posting them!

Snyder effectively destroyed the redskins the moment he took ownership. Men of his ethnic background are quite adept at taking something beloved and running it into the ground. I hope he goes bankrupt.

Art Monk 230 yards in this game. Redskins were so resilient back then. A disastrous start with multiple turnovers and they still managed to come back.

@moabite sounds they adjusted the whole game not just at halftime. The halftime adjustment is a myth.

To think that that bumbling clodpate Peter King argued against his induction to the hall of fame. What a loser.

That right. That Peter King character is a big bum and poopoo. What he knows of football is minus zero.

If that is the case p king really is a puppet for nfl mainstream media and probably misinformed or misled younger generations !

The Bengals had a chance to win their division with a victory but couldnt get it done. Esiason could throw the ball but wasnt a big game QB. Two excellent arms in this game.

He had his moments but never seemed to improve over time. Accuracy problems relegated him to mediocrity after 1986.

Jay Schroeder was good quarterback for the Redskins. Leading them to a 5-1 record when Joe went down. He then led them to 12-4 record the next year, but was just hurt on and off that 87 season and plus the players wanted Doug Williams. Jay's attitude just turned a lot of guys off including Joe Gibbs.
@bretttoombs2465
@bretttoombs2465 3 года назад
Schroeder won a lot of games playing for Washington. Washington fans never appreciated him nor his effort...and that is sad. Schroeder played better than Theismann did in 1985. Saved the season in my opinion.
@chrisorr4902
@chrisorr4902 3 года назад
I agreed that Jay Schroeder was a good quarterback. He done great with the Redskins and Raiders. He was loaded with talent on both the Redskins and Raiders. Also, he played for the Bengals and Cardinals late in his career. Both teams lack on talent.
@MaximusWolfe
@MaximusWolfe 2 года назад
No, sorry, but Jay Schrader had horrible accuracy problems his entire career. He had a lot of talent but he never dealt with his flaws critically. He’s another one of those quarterbacks who believed that his arm strength could overcome his deficiencies. The Redskins were right to see him as a quarterback who wasn’t going to grow past those flaws. When he was traded to the Raiders he struggled quite often and was eventually benched in favor of a crackhead named Todd Marinovich.

@@bretttoombs2465 Im glad you said that. So he wasn't the greatest of all time. He gets a bad rap. The way they let Doug Williams talk about him in the 1987 Americas Game episode is disgraceful.

@@MaximusWolfe It is very rare to see a qb overcome accuracy problems past the age of 20. Im sure there are exceptions but QBs with bad accuracy rarely ever get better.

It was apparent at this point that the Redskins should have released Mark Moseley after the season. Not sure why Joe Gibbs brought him back in the 1986 season. That was not a good idea as they would release Moseley after week 6 terrible loss at Dallas. Moseley did sign with and kick for the Cleveland Browns in the playoffs that season and kicked winning field in double OT of the AFC Divisional against the NY Jets, but he retired shortly after the AFCCG loss.

In an expand playoff field in the 1985 NFL season Washington would've made the playoffs as the last wildcard team meaning on wild card weekend Washington would be on the road verses the arch rival NFC Eastern division champions Dallas Cowboys

Nothing was wrong with him he was just vastly overrated. People think because he had such a good year and 82 that he was some kind of all time great kicker. He wasn’t. He very nearly lost them the 1983 NFC championship game and was erratic for most of his career. With the game on the line I would’ve taken chip Lohmiller over Mosley any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
