This is my 2015 Monster beetle kit that has been built and topped off with the Vintage 1986 Monster Beetle body and lights. I am running the vintage stock wheels that were painted black and installed a set of Proline Flat Irons on it. I am using a Futaba standard servo, Traxxas brushed ESC and a 18000Mah/NIMH battery. The monster beetle is such an awesome car. I got my first one last year. Finally got time to build it, ill be painting it soon. Mb and the clodbuster are my all time favorite tamiya vehicles that I never had as a kid. So I have them now as a 40 year old kid lol.

Had one painted in Chocolate Chip camo called "DESERT STORM ." Love the tyres ,much nicer than the usual monster truck ones ,still one of the best looking r/c cars out there !

I love those wheels. I just got my re release kit about a week ago. The Monster Beetle was my first hobby grade rc car back in the day.

You should look into the MIP ball diff. It will fix the transmission completely, no more plates spreading apart. Check out AMPRO Engineering's install vid on them. Edit: If you haven't already since I am just seeing that this vid is a year old..

I wonder, do you know if 2015 Monster Beetle parts (rear suspension arms) would fit my original 1986 Monster Beetle . Looks like they are the same. 37 years later racing with my great nephews 😁

Great video and I love how you painted the original MB body and driver. I noticed that the fog lights are mounted on the chassis as opposed to the lower part or the nose below where the license plate is. That mod you did is super cool and avoids the fog lights from breaking off of the body. How did you do that?

What are these tires

Hey, thanks for watching. The tires are Proline "Hammer" tires. These are super soft and help with suspension and grip from the stock tires. I bought these 10 years ago (ish) Asplenia!

@@asplenia These tires look like they are good for blacktop and concrete and maybe a little bit of grass that's what I'm looking for the tires that come with the monster beetle now are too hard they make it flip in terms and I don't want to wreck the body Please comment back if you feel the same

@@martinneps9387 Hey Martin, Actually, these are a set of old Proline Hammer rock crawling tires. They are discontinued now but any 2.2 soft rock crawler sire should do. These tires have amazing grip in any situation and help the suspension since they are so soft. I do recommend that you also install the (very expensive now) MIP Diff, tires like this will destroy the stock differential. Thanks for watching! Asplenia.
