I played with Canseco after he retired. He played in my 30 and over hardball league here in Los Angeles. Back then we were using mental bats. I felt sorry for the third baseman. We had a few retired players in our league. Bret Saberhagen also played in our league for a few years. He was not allowed to pitch. He played shortstop. He played high school ball in the Valley and is a very good athlete.
I remember when this card was the hottest card in the market. I went to a baseball card shop around 89-90 for my birthday and pulled 2 from wax 2 different boxes same section of the box. 3rd. Pack, right corner to make the number #33 the card shop was actually offering to buy Cansecos pulled from wax right from customers who would pull them. I think it was 15 20 bucks a pack at the time. Also pulled a Crime Dog rookie from one of the packs too.

Back in 1986 when I was 14 yrs old I would buy 4-6 packs of 86 donruss baseball for .50cents a pack and had no luck 🍀 one day my mom said here’s one pack maybe you get lucky 🍀 and pull the Canseco card you hope for and yes she had one pack magic 🪄 and I got it 😂
