Feature on Brendon Grimshaw, owner of Ile Moyenne - his very own private island in the Seychelles.
Paul Coia got a guided tour to the island, home to Brendan, his partner and a few dozen giant tortoises he has reintroduced to the island.
Sadly Brendon passed away in 2012, aged 87, but his legacy survives as the renamed Moyenne Island National Park - believed to be the world's smallest national park.

They were 9 and 11 and they came out on the street wearing their new shorts-only they were not shorts, they were boxer shorts. True story. Local lads.

@@rayj7273 Yes, I miss them so much! Showed off a man's credentials so much better than the scruffy, baggy long-shorts of today. Of course, I still wear the short-shorts myself, usually in black leather.

….I was about to remark that those scandalously short shorts surely date this well before the ‘1996’ in the title but I note the description states _1986_ instead, which makes far more sense. Certainly if a chap attempted to wear such exiguous apparel in the 90’s he’d probably get arrested! 🙂

For 1986, these blokes were fashionably dressed, true, but those pants and footwear, particularly, just don't seem practical for the environment and conditions under which they were living. Perhaps even a hard hat or helmet, in case you got in the way of the "falling coconuts", too. Then, perhaps I'm over thinking it. Besides, what does he care.. It's his island. And good luck to him.

I was 21 in 1986 but dont remember wearing shorts like that. The man's old RP British accent, that only some older members of the royal family still use falls strangly on the ears and is somewhat irritating. More strangly, he's from Yorkshire. People used to put on a posh accent for interviews, so this might explain the bizarre use of his now defunct vowel sounds. And this is only 38 years ago 😮
