It was the same for 1970 World Cup. For example, the temperature was well into the 90s for the Brazil-England game. Very dangerous.

The South American teams used this to their great advantage. In the end the Europeans struggled to cope. It wasn't just the high temperature, but the humidity was like playing in a sauna
