A day out in Romsey in 1986. We see the Abbey from a distance, a walk around the busy market, the town centre, the abbey, and a look at King John's House.

Great timecapsule, my grandfather bought his Audi quattro in 1986 and I have long been trying to find a picture of it in Romsey where he always used to frequent

Lovely views of my old home-town - I lived in Romsey from 1977-'84. Thanks for uploading. I made a film of the town when I visited four or five years ago - on my channel somewhere.

This brought back some great memories. Thanks for sharing. I would have been 7 years old when this was filmed. Sadly had to move away from Romsey in 1990. Do you have any more footage of Romsey in the 80s?

I absolutely love it when people recognise long lost family and friends in my dad's old cine films. It makes them so real, to think that something shot 35 years ago can almost reunite people (in their memories at least) is very heart warming.

@@BurlSolomons well, Beryl isn’t long lost - she’s just celebrated her 90th birthday! But it’s great to see her in the old market back in the day!

@@oldwebshooter if you can get it in super 8 cartridges, then yes.

@@BurlSolomons You can, but the older ones only accepted the lower speed films. 50D film is close, but I can't seem to find any tests with it.

@@oldwebshooter With nregative film, tolerance is not at all critical, so when you get it developed and scanned it will be fine. the reversal films are more challenging. If you have manual exposure adjustment you can overcome this easily enough.
