There’s no way he should have pumped the fuel pedal to get it to start. The 87‘s were fuel injection. Wonder why it took so long to turn over. I had an 88 with a 5 L V8 and it fired right up only a second after turning over the key.
Yeah 4.9 and 5.0 like this one were EFI in 1987 and the 5.8 and 7.5 were carbureted until the next year, I would still rather have carbureted i.e. non-catalyst and no computer b.s. and should start faster once warmed up since no computer to read it, fuel already there just fire it off, plus you can adjust idle speed, etc. . .
