I have ridden in one back then here in the Philippines, where it was launched here as the NISSAN VANETTE marketed here locally from 1993-2001 and our market's only trim is 2.0L gas OHC 8-valve with 96 HP @ 156 Nm and is mated to a single box a 5spd MT
I remember this Van when it was in california still they wanted $4500 for it when the SR swap was fresh. Someone in Florida bought then saw it up for sale again but for wayyy more. Originally they had a Z24 engine only made about 106hp. SR was a great improvement, I'm looking into getting one i found that's an original 5spd and want to swap a KA single or twin cam not looking to haul ass just want enough power to push it around.
@@pushtoyota I was told about the guy who originally built it in the Bay Area. I have a 87 Van now unfortunately for me the transmission gave out as soon as I made the trip from Modesto, California to Southern Oregon. I only had 2nd, 4th and Reverse. I'm leaning toward KA24DE just for simplicity and budget. Wondering how the cable mechanism is going to work with the new set up once I get there.
Tried to buy this van a couple of years ago when it was for sale in Chattanooga or somewhere near there. I’m guessing you were the one who beat me to it. Just picked up an 85 Toyota Van that’s basically the same exact color and everything but wish I’d gotten that Nissan….
Had a question did you ever have to mess with the shift linkage? Mine wouldn't shift in any gear messed with the linkage and now I can get it into most gears.
pocketr2004 Nope these are super rare! Nissan Van were recalled for catching on fire, so a lot of the owners returned the vans and got something else. This one is one of the last few remaining examples.
