As we all know, Bill Ratner would eventually succeed Ernie Anderson as the voice of ABC-TV. Of course, we know Bill as Flint on the original G.I. Joe series!!!

I've seen each and every single episode of Mr. Belvedere, Head of the Class, Just the Ten of Us, and The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. All which aired that season on ABC.

It's a shame that a lot of these classic shows will never see the light of day on DVD or streaming services. Heck I don't even see most of these on pay television (cable/satellite).

Interesting that 'A Fine Romance' (which ended up being held off until January 1989) was originally supposed to be the Sunday 8 p.m. show in the fall of 1988, and not the 'Mission: Impossible' revival.

"A Fine Romance" ended up airing on Thursdays starting in late January 1989 and I believe it was canceled after only about six episodes.

Before watching this, I thought I knew all of the freshman shows of the season that were meant for September debuts, but were delayed because of the strike. Although 'A Fine Romance' premiered in January of 1989, I always assumed that it was meant to be a midseason show from the start. Then again, returning shows such as Tour of Duty (CBS) and My Two Dads (NBC) had their season premieres in January, so clearly new shows meant for the fall were still making their debut at that time.

"My Two Dads" was intended as a midseason replacement that year. "Tour of Duty" was originally slotted for Saturday night but for whatever reason CBS decided to replace it's badly performing "TV 101" on Tuesday night with "Tour" starting in January 1989.

They are good shows for the most part. A few clunkers thrown in there but this was a time when you actually looked forward to watching prime time network TV. Too many reality shows and filth on network TV today. The networks want to be like cable which is actually not a good thing.

Anyone know why ABC often dubbed "Dynasty" as "America's Favorite" in their promos for the show?

Back then, ABC was no. 2 in the prime-time Nielsens, behind front-running NBC. A year earlier, CBS fell to a disappointing no. 3 spot, far ahead of the fledgling Fox network!!!

That's a clip from Gideon Oliver, a short lived series. IMDB doesn't have Seinfeld listed in the cast. At this point, it's a case of maybe and maybe not.
