William Dafoe had 3 Movies out - Mississippi Burning, The Last Temptation of Christ and Saigon/ Off Limitts.
Michelle Pfeiffer was busy also with 3 Movies - Married to the Mob, Tequila Sunrise and Dangerous Liaisons.
Steven Seagal was introduced to the world in Nico : ABOVE the Law.
Bruce Willis became an action Star. Jean Claude Van Damme cemented hid action status also with BloodSport. And the usual Hard men were back also, Chuck Norris (Hero & the Terror, Missing in Action 3), Silvester Stallone ( Rambo 3), Charles Bronson ( Messenger of Death), Arnie ( Red Heat, Twins) and Jackie Chan ( Police Story 2 and Dragons Forever).
Mick Dundee from Australia was back and Phil Collins tried his hand at acting in Buster. Gary Oldman was building a reputation in The Firm and a new director emerged on the scene in Spike Lee ( School Daze). Dennis Hopper directed the excellent "Colors" with pals Sean Penn and Robert Duval. And off course the year wouldn't be complete without a reunion with Michael Myers, Jason Vorhees and Freddy Kueger. We were also introduced to the child friendly toy "Chucky" in Childs Play. Clint Eastwood played Detective "Dirty" Harry Callahan for the 5th and last time . Also a youngish Samual L Jackson started appearing in small roles.
And finally Roddy Piper saw the real world in John Carpenters " They Live".
All round , 1988 was a good year in Movies.
