1988 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 5 speed 1,547 original miles!! I bought the car from the original old man owner in Indiana. I put this exhaust on and a k&n air filter. Mint car.
Tried the "beater" route twice but spent more time fixing them than driving them. 88 was dealer rustproofed then rustproofed again in 2005 when I repainted. Chassis/frame still clean. Besides, I'm 62, it only has to last long enough for me to be buried in it ;)
Damn. Just like looking at/listening to my 88GT - same car, same color, almost same pipes. I'm still running the stock headers but have the FM cat-back American Thunder system. Oh, and I've got 4 Hakkepelitta Nokian NRW Winter tires mounted on my original rims because I live in Michigan and a Mustang is a blast to drive in snow with 180-lbs added over the rear axle!
So how has the H pipe been? im also looking into buying an o/r bbk h pipe to go with my bbk shorty headers and American thunder catback system that came with the super 44s but i just seen some forums that say that bbk h nd x pipes have been known to come defected and will get rusty quick and i wonder if thats true since i live in S florida and all the salt or whatever.
Thats excatly how mine sounds..I have the new super 44's American thunder cat back system...Im switching out to an off road X pipe instead of my Off road H...the new super 44's are different then the older 40's so to me the H sounds a little weird when getting on the car hard kinda Raps..so i was told to go with an X to correct that,,,we will see..lol...check out my videos for up-coming clips i have the car on there now with the Off road H i will post clips soon of the Off road X-pipe installed
