There’s a old joke about the previous “woodies” But it fits perfectly for this one. The man’s new car was delivered to the house where him and some friends were. After admiring the new car his friends left. The next time they saw the car all the wood had been taken off the car. One of his friends said. “ You know that’s still a nice car. Hey Anthony & Papa Bear, this beautiful Buick Wagon is an excellent example of a bygone era!!! Along with so many other baby boomers I have so many fond memories of road trips in the family station wagon with the rear facing third seat!!! In my case it was a 69 Chrysler Town & Country with the fake wood on the sides!!! Those were good times!!! Thanks for sharing this fun video!!! 👍👍🙂

I had a company car much like this and I loved it at the time. Brand new and perfect. It rode great and had an awesome AC system. By today's standards it seems clunky but it was very crisp and contemporary at the time because when it came out you would compare it to cars 5-10 years older and it was very nice. The sport wheels on the wagon are a very sassy look.

What a great car! I'm an 80s baby, and have memories in my aunt's brown '86(or so) Chevrolet Caprice 9 passenger wagon! Indeed I rode in the 3rd rear facing seat alot! Great trip down memory lane!

While this car was not the same make or model wagon my mother had when I was a child, it does bring back a lot of memories of the many miles we travelled in that car across California to Arizona and back from '77 to '78, and the many more miles we used it on daily excursions when we were not travelling. She had that car from '76 to '80... boy, did she put a lot of miles on that wagon.

I bought my dad a blue on blue one back when they were new when he retired. I loved that car and wish I still had it. Thanks for a great trip down memory lane!

My memory is my dad ran these as taxis in Boston they took a beating 500k miles out of a 86'.

What a nice car that is. My parents had a hand me down '84 Electra from my grandparents that I put a lot of miles on as a kid. About the same as this from the B-post forward. It was very comfortable to cruise in.

I'd take it in a heartbeat if I could convince my wife to want it as well. Only change I'd make are the headlights, and eventually fix the flaw in the woodgrain on the back. I'd make it my everyday driver and use it until I wear it out, then sell it to someone enthusiastic about restoring it. Nice car! Best wishes to whoever ends up with it.👍

car was probably driven for only 10 years and stored in a garage for 20+ years. styling was considered old for 1989. our 87 mercury sable wagon was so modern compared to this. upper middle age korean war verterans bought these vehicles.

My friend Mr.Sneed had one it was a Country Squire Station Wagon, but we called it "The Country Squirrel", man i sure miss that car, and Mr.Sneed too..R.I.P.

It is a beautiful car and I always liked them. My last few cars were E-Class Mercedes estates as I live in the UK, but they are probably the closest you can get to these big American wagons. What a pleasing mixture of luxury, comfort and practicality!

You could haul so much stuff with those old wagons. Much better than vans! Much more efficient in terms of gas mileage than vans at the time as well.

Love the wagon! My parents first new car was a 1963 Biscayne wagon and there second new car was a 1970 Kingswood wagon and I learned how to drive on it! I had a 1988 caprice estate wagon! And a 1993 Buick wagon! 💟

This generation of GM wagons are beautiful. The Electra Estate is definitely the best of the bunch. I grew up in a mid 80s Century Estate wagon. I now have a Regal TourX wagon. Tried to keep the Buick wagon heritage going. Wanted to give my children That Buick wagon experience...

This makes me miss my 1983 Olds Ninety-Eight Regency Brougham sedan, medium blue metallic on blue velour inside. I bought it in 1990 when the car was 6 years old. It had both driver and passenger vanity mirrors. It had the cornering lamps and the hood mounted fiber optic indicators. It had an oversized moon roof, mirrored on the outside for one-way glass. Full power electric seats both driver and passenger. Tilt and telescopic steering column. Lighters in both rear door ash trays. Fluorescent full height opera lights on the door columns outside. The car was loaded to the gills. After a year and a half owning it, it was stolen. Broke my heart. Never saw it again. Anthony, this wagon, all be it not a sedan, is beautiful! I love how it can actually haul full sheets of plywood, drywall, etc. If needed. I would not want to subject such a jewel as this to such rigorous service, but it does show the versatility this car had in the day.

I had an 89 that I bought from the original owner. Same color but w/o the woodgrain. Maroon interior too. It was a sharp car. I regret getting rid of it. I've owned over 100 cars of all types. I honestly can say that my Electra Estate Wagon probably got the most compliments of any car I've owned. Although the 307 was a bit anemic the car was equipped with trailer tow package & most interesting was it had a factory rear sway bar. I personally have never seen another wagon with a rear sway bar.

I am shocked it did not have a passenger power seat and corner lamps. You are correct about the options and features. This was classic Buick. I would take the Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser of this vintage. You really do make the videos informative and interesting.

I love it. A few years back I was injured at work and was down for about 6 months with physical therapy and all. I saved up all my mileage money from going to surgery and everything and bought an 85 mercury grand marquis. Although I prefer early 90s style but the pice was good. I loved that car and still regret selling the old girl. My sister gave me her 09 Honda CR-V. It was a nice upgrade but the mercury was much quieter and smoother. One day I’ll find something like this just to tinker on and baby. Cool car.

these are great cars! i picked up a 90' olds custom cruiser wagon with 75k miles on it for 2 grand ( its not nearly cosmetically as nice though ) one thing people never do is lube the rear window motor and they get sluggish and burn up. it actually is fairly easy to access and oil!

I learned to drive on an 82 Lesabre. 307 a little wonky in 82 with all the vacuum hoses and stuff but I bet they had that worked out by 89. Pretty car.

I used to patch the laminate behind the rear doors on my old man's '85 Caprice Estate which furniture laminate from shelving. 20 years ago you couldn't sell these, no one wanted them. People at swap meets laughed at me when I asked about wheels. The wagons had wider wheels than the sedans. The rear passenger wheel wells always rusted on these by the bottom seat cushion.

My friend has an original 1987 Buick Grand national love that car its appraised at 80,000.00 mint condition all original no winters

It made me think of Dax Shepard's 1994 Buick Roadmaster Estate wagon 700 hp! Anyway this Electra wagon would be so pretty in a candy apple metallic burgundy paint job to go with the interior! Re-decal the wood grain in the same burled wood grain as the interior pattern!

I also owned a 1982 Pontiac Parisienne Brougham all original paint no rust no winters sold it for 12gs recently

When i was 10 my Dad bought a new 1982 buick electra wagon with red seats. The back seat folded up and you would sit facing the back window.

I used to own one of these. It had over 225K miles on it. Everything worked. The only problem it had was the driver seat needed recushioning or restuffing. I was stolen and the would be theif tried to outrun the cops and crashed it. I never will forget the cops knocking on my door to tell me that my car had been stolen and wrecked. When I got to the tow yard, I cried.

I'd love to cruise around America on a road trip Vacation style like Chevy Chase in that thing. Throw some suit cases on the top and send it!
