TupolevPilot I've heard Lenny before. Last few strats Mark has broke out Yellow Ledbetter and Riviera Paradise by SRV (which I confused for a moment). It's been a while since we had a good strat, and Mark didn't let us down 👍🏼

Hi folks, I have #499 of 500 that I bought new in1989 while passing through Florida on vacation. The guitar shop had #008 as well but they were hanging on to it. I have enjoyed playing my HLE over the years and still do as I approach my 65th birthday.

Say what you like but when Bill and Co bought Fender they really turned it around. I'm not crazy about the 90's standard Strats but today Fender really have their house in order. In my humble opinion anyway!

I believe the late John English was the second of the two original Custom Shop guys. John Page and John English were the guys at the very beginning. RIP

Correcting myself, based upon a comment elsewhere in this thread. Michael Stevens, not the late John English, was one of the first two builders at the Custom Shop.

The first Fender Custom Shop builders were John Page and Michael Stevens. I think this model (57’ reissue Stratocaster HLE tri gold) was one of the first Custom Shop models (correct me if I’m wrong. I think the custom shop first made Stratocasters and Telecasters. I think other models (Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Bass 6, P-Bass, Etc..) were made later

I had an 1983 57 Reissue in that off white color. Loved the guitar, had it a long time, switched out the pickups twice. Kinda dumb. But it was my only guitar, and I couldn't make it work for what I wanted....

Please, do something about the sound quality of your videos. I am sure you have Shure mics around. Just mic the amp, and then mixed it with the video, it is really easy to do in software like Movie Maker (which I think it is the one you are using). Either that, or directly mic the cam with the shure while you are playing the guitar.
