Had new in 1989. Mine was a LX model. Outstanding automobile. I may finally be interested in a car from one of my favorite RU-vid channels. This won't last folks.

These were great cars! Had almost twin for this one. Mine was LX with optional formal roof and red velvet interior and red pin stripes. At a stop light, got rear-ended by a Taurus. Front end of Taurus was trashed. My LX had one small dent in CHROME bumper, but impact bent drivers seat beyond repair! They unfortunately do not build them like this anymore 😔

Of course, buddy. The LTDs were in production until 1991. Later, rebranded as Crown Victoria only

Now this here is a Ford, Lincoln Mercury time capsule. Man this car were it man. Love that 302 motor and starter sound. I was 6 years old in 1989 and I’m 41 today and so badly won’t to acquire one of these. Only problem where I’m from they are extremely hard to find in this kind of shape. I’m from New Jersey.

My God, what a beautiful unit. I bought a brand new 89 Grand Marquis GL. It’s exactly the same style as the Vic. That car will run forever!

I had the good fortune to purchase a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis LS 50th anniversary edition sedan in dark blue metallic with full carriage roof and 67,000.0 original miles in January 2022. This is in addition to my other two cars a 1987 and 1991 Crown Victoria station wagons.

Another BEAUTIFUL Ford, Panther Platform car! These were and are great cars and if you keep up with good and regular maintenance you should be able to get around 3 to 4 hundred thousand miles, maybe even half a million miles. The term "bullet proof" definitely applies and is not overstated to all Panther Platform cars of which the LTD Crown Victoria is one of. THE SUPER AMAZING PANTHER PLATFORM!

I had this exact kind of car, but my father stole it. My favorite model of the Crown Victoria. That's actually an LX, by the way. The classic LTD ones are hard to find.

@@moonbeamskies3346 Following a minor update for the 1988 model the LTD Crown Victoria was discontinued after the 1991 model year when they dropped the LTD (Luxury Trim Décor) replaced by the Crown Victoria. I have the '89 LTD Crown Vic in my driveway, 63,000 original miles.

If i had my license this car would be on it's way to Kissimmee, FL and would become my daily driver in a heartbeat. Would I replace the stereo yeah I would and fix the rear window motors yep. And yes i'd maintain the heck outta of it. and being in FL that LTD Crown Vic Would be with me for a long time. If i owned it would i ever get rid of the car nope. I'd drive it until the wheels fall off and then i'd put this car back together and drive it some more.

One question. Why is there a toggle switch near the speedometer? Is that clear plastic cracked as well? Thanks!

It is not a toggle switch. It is a push button to reset trip odometer.

I had the same year Grand Marquis, and it was a great sled in the snow. Never got stuck. I’ve always owned a rear wheel drive vehicle. My daily driver is a 92 Town Car, which is still rear wheel drive. Again, no issues in snow ❄️!

If a car is taken care of it will out last the ones with low miles my truck has a 155 thousand miles on it not a one problem

Just remember these were the choice for police cruisers and when they were sold at surplus auctions and then were sold to for taxi cabs. They literally will last forever if maintained properly,
