MFI is also referred to as TFI, Thick Film Ignition. Same size drill bit on the TPS, slotted in the opposite direction you need to move the TPS is easier than worrying about too big a hole.

RTV Was applied the because of the vacuum leakage at the TPS mounting surface.
@autoobsessivegarage

That’s what I reckon as well. That being said, not a fan of RTV in vacuum/boost applications as it rarely is airtight. I’ve seen small chunks get sucked through.

@@autoobsessivegarageI'm working on a 93 Foxbody right now with super rich conditions. When I've smoke tested it, and I've found the largest leakage from the TPS. The first thing that came to mind was RTV. Now I'm thinking about what you mentioned about it being sucked into the chamber

why was the distributor a thooth out? Did the owner mess with it previously ? You did not show how to time with the inline spout connector removed, your viewers may want to see. Also, the oil pump shaft slotted to the bottom of the distributor, folks need to know that the pump drive shaft may fall in the oil pan if they are not careful during removal, but you did not show that... Just a suggenstion. Thanks for you info.

He mentioned the spout at 5:15. Ford distributor drive shafts are six sided, Chevrolet are slotted. My 1993 had a washer type device to keep it from pulling out, if you put a stronger shaft in it it may not have room for that to be replaced..

My guess the RTV was to lock the sensor in place

Agreed, maybe attempting ti seal it all…but Bebe a good fix and always a red flag when I see stuff like that.

Great video. Did this help the running rich mustang. I have a 94 5.0 that’s running rich but can’t figure out what else to do?!

Just getting everything sorted in the car did make it run much better. Since there were some aftermarket parts swapped around, a professional tune cleaned it up all the way and the car is running great now.

Help, I can’t get get timing light mark hooked to #1 wire, I hook timing light to #8 and I get a timing light mark on balancer,
@autoobsessivegarage
@autoobsessivegarage 7 дней назад
You need to use #1 since timing is set off of TDC of cylinder 1. Why can’t you use the #1 wire?
@chadwilmeth7511
@chadwilmeth7511 7 дней назад
You can’t see the timing mark with #1, on the balancer, but on #8 you see the timing mark with the timing light

Wrong balancer or timing cover?Set #1 to tdc and mark 0 on balancer with paint. Do some geometry and mark idle and full advance (12&34 degrees or whatever you want). Draw circle on paper same diameter as balancer. Draw your wanted angles (degrees) from 0. Measure distance from 0 around the diameter and then mark your balancer.
