I remember watching the Peter Starr (Moto Star Productions) with John Kosinski and listening to him praising Bud Aksland for the MASSIVE increase in horsepower that enabled JK to match the NSR250's top speed advantage-

I remember seeing him at a 24 of Nelson Ledges with Cycle Tech on a GSXR750 before we had them in the states. He could barely touch the ground he was so small but fast as hell even at night. Later that year at the GNF RA I was a novice on a 500 interceptor and he lapped me on a TZ250.

These TZ's sure kicked the front wheel up in lower gears! So much fun to watch riders control these machines. Pure magic.

Outstanding!! I really miss the 250GP machines. HONDA vs YAMAHA vs APRILIA. Today's MOTO 2 has NO factory teams, NO manufacturer vs manufacturer battles. Back then it was out and out war between the manufacturers.

By eck, that was some action in those first three bikes. What a bunch of pro's in action.

I don't think John got as much respect as other American riders, and I don't remember any American winning four titles in a row, even though 3 were U.S. titles and one world title. Four titles in a row was not easy.

I think Kosinski was maybe too small to be a 500cc champ, I mean that guy is tiny!
