In my opinion, pit road speed limits is one of those few things that should have been implemented at the start of NASCAR. Although from this case it seems like the brake bias contributed to wheel hop, it was reckless and irresponsible for the drivers to go 120 or so in the pits with barely covered men trying to execute their jobs. RIP Mike Ritch, whose safety innovations to pit road are sadly too innumerable to count,
I am pretty sure that Ricky Rudd still feels terrible about what happened on pit road to this day. It was accidental there was nothing he could do about it. Nascar should have had a pit road speed limit from the start.
