Really nice! Love the “boxy” look of the grilles and the base. There’s a chance that the bearing sound is actually coming from the oscillator gearbox. Some fresh grease usually takes care of that.

Thanks! Most Dayton branded Lasko's inlcluded that "wide" grill shape i've noticed. I guess its for more safety inclined as these were intended for commercial/Industrial use. And interesting, I may try that and see what happens. I've yet to mess with the oscillator gearbox.

Very nice! I have the table top version. And it exhibits some of the same things as yours does. I ended up putting a little bit of grease on the oscillator pivot where the motor goes into the neck.

Nice! I also have a table top version from 1984. Interesting, I might have to try that,

In my humble opinion, I feel that the spin-down time is actually not as bad as I was expecting. I have a gray Lasko wall fan model 3012 from circa 1995-96 that has a fairly similar spin-down time. It’s not the best, but not the worst either. Nevertheless, it seems to run pretty good. I would leave it the way it is and not mess with the bearings unless they are totally seized. Other than that, good find! I’m impressed.

I mainly said that as most cases, it slows down a lot quicker, right before the video i let it run a few hours so I guess it had warmed up a bit which probably helped it. I might leave it as is but if it gets any worse it'll probably be serviced. and Thanks!

Other than the blades slowing down abruptly, it seems fine for the way it runs and gets up to speed.

Will you talk to Dayton about making these old designs again and try to make Lakewood's box fans?
