The factory 2.3 turbo oil pump is one of the best ever. The pump housing is similar in size to the one installed in large V8s, with lots of volume for the turbo.
this was the last generation of american car I like design wise. Like these things are peak. Light, agile, they handle *exactly* like a mustang should, and that turbo 4 should show some current gen mustangs they're not untouched
Trying to do this on my 1990 hatch, but having a hard time figuring out the wiring and I can't find exact wiring diagram. it has a TFI, square intake, MAF sensor, and 4 pin o2 sensor. just wondering, since your fox is a 90 as well, if the wiring was a bit tricky for you? I feel like I'm gonna have to reverse engineer the wiring for this thing.
Will a 1993 notch 2.3l turbo and autotrans fit a 1993 hatch 2.3l automatic transmission without having to change out harness or anything? Straight fit? They have a 93 fox notch at the junkyard. 2.3l turbo engine and transmission for $1000
Probably not. Foxbody’s never came with turbos after 1986. The harness in the junkyard car has either been modified for the turbo setup, or the harness is from a pre 91 car
So did you get the computer for that motor ( LA1 or a LB2 ) the schematics are all over the internet I have 2 turbo coupes in volkswagens and my brother has 1 we love them when you get it dialled in they really haul ass
I’ve since sold the car, but if I remember correctly the computer I used was from an 88 turbo coupe and was an 8UA, meaning auto car, and kinda intense timing map.
I notice that the intake has no MAF, did that effect performance? I want to put a Cold air intake on my NA 2.3 but don’t know how to get a MAF on there to fit.
Thanks man. Not sure about repinning of the 85 n/a harness, I had to change up a few of my wires. Stinger performance will probably have some info on it. That’s what I used to re pin mine. And you can contact him too.
@@b323ss2 the stock n/a 2.3 clutch basically held for no time. Couple rips and it started slipping. You can either get eBay clutch (which are apparently good) or thunderbird flywheel and clutch like what I’m going to do in the spring
@@themacintoshbuyer4240 If I could ask what did u modify am trying to use the harnes from the 88 tc or should I modify the stock harness from the stang or what was easier for u to do
@@themacintoshbuyer4240 hell yeah I just did mine to 5 lug sn95 brakes and spindles and axle I'm getting my supporting mods ready to either turbo the n/a 2.3 or a turbo 2.3
@@brandonpurple8938 I’d personally say find a turbo coupe motor. Much easier to make power off of, and way less easy to blow up. Stock 2.3 cannot hold much boost, and for the cost of a used turbo couple motor it would definitely be worth doing it that way.
You REALLY need to check your privilege. As a BIPOC, this type of video is extremely triggering. Donate this machine to offset your white privilege and pay reparations.
@@themacintoshbuyer4240 I agree. I beat the crap out of mine. Donuts burnouts slayn 5.0's and 4.6's . The basics. I'm going to put the gnari manifold with a gt3282r. Gonna be hell cat time!!!
@@Justa4banger79 I put the 2.3T in my 91 Miata; microsquirt, 85lb injectors, and everything else besides a bigger turbo. I am hoping to start it up for the first time in a few days. If you guys want to check it out, it on Stinger's website under car builds. After I get the aluminum head built, I hope to take on some hellcats.
