Chiefs were bad ass. Steve was a great QB when he had a chance to show it, playing for good teams with lines that gave him time to throw. Rough-ass game here.
It's has over 20 years since the Raiders and Chiefs Faced each other in Kansas City, Missouri in 1991 and I was only 13 when the Raiders were still in Los Angeles
As badly as you might think K.C. owned you in the 90s, another fellow AFC West division rival had owned you for a far longer time up until this game and for nearly a decade and a half afterwards: Denver. Beginning after Raiders' Super Bowl XVIII win over Washington Redskins, Broncos under John Elway began to dominate and eventually supplant Raiders as the top AFC West team and in a larger sense one of the best teams in the AFC (and also the NFL as a whole) by late 80s/Early 90's.
Robert true...the Raiders turned the ball over a half dozen times and lost by 4...never mind the fact that they had better players. They underachieved. The Chiefs were the better team but the Raiders were loaded.
Barry Word...him and Christian Okoya...RIP...Derrick Thomas and Art Shell...and Steve DeBerg vs the Magic Man at qb for the Raiders, Tim Brown and Ronnie Lott...who would've thought Montana and Lott would end up in the AFC West

STEVE WAS AWSOME MOSTLY A CAREER BACK UP THAT COULD COME OFF THE BENCH OR GET A START AND MANAGE A GAME AND GET A WIN. HE HAD SOME BAD LUCK GOING TO TEAMS THAT HAD FUTURE H O F'S AS THE STARTERS , MONTANA WITH THE NINERS AND ELWAY THE BRONCOS AND FEW OTHERS. PUT 20 PLUS YEARS IN THE NFL. A REAL GRINDER. GREAT GUY. I THINK HE WOULD BE A HECK OF A COACH.
Was Okoye in the doghouse or what? I thought he was more the feature back that year. I know Word became the feature back though.... And was Bo Jackson out by this time too?
Bo Jackson's last game was against the Bengals in the AFC Divisional game the previous year. Word took over at the end of 1991 over Okoye. Okoye moved to fullback and didn't get a lot of touches the last part of the 1991 season.
Its too bad Chiefs didn't draft Dan Marino as they should had in 1983. I GURANTEE Chiefs win least 1, maybe 2 SB Titles fr 91-97. It's all Chiefs were missing. A QB. I loved DeBerg and Montana. But DeBerg was no Marino and Joe was done. Honestly? Chiefs had better overall teams least 3 times fr 91-97 than their 2019 SB Title team. Just missing a QB.
Unlistenable. Fake enthusiasm. Fumbles every other word. Imposter once wondered allowed while broadcasting a college football game if the Raiders would "even win a game that season." NFL is rigged.
One of the worst-played NFL playoff games ever. And the only "touchdown" was not a touchdown in any way, shape or form. Even with the old force-out rule that was not a TD.
