You only increase the fuel two turns to the top. It is better to make the car go faster. When you raise the star wheel to the top, you will turn on the turbocharger and it will give a lot of air to the engine. When you give a lot of air, it will put pressure on the diaphragm and on the springs while driving, and it will mean better and faster acceleration, but turning it to Lower will give you less acceleration and more smoke, but a strong takeoff
So technically speaking add fuel rise your EGT make it smoke with the hope that it produces more power while having zero understanding of how diesel fuel actually burns
Turning it CW will lower it on the threads, allowing more fuel to flow at a lower boost. Turning it CCW will raise it, making the AFC spring more compressed, lowering the amount of fuel under low boost.
