1991 Chevy S10 - Overview 

I bought this truck in 1990 as the '91 was new and available with that black grill. Mine was absolute base for $9,995 with no bumper and vinyl bench seat. The 4-Tech engine was slow and gained me the phrase by friends, "4-Tech . . . can't do a burnout, even when it's wet." I would flip the air cleaner cover over to allow more air in, which gave it a deeper sound in the cabin. Wonderful memories of that S-10. It was red with red interior. Tons of road noise. Surprisingly so-so fuel mileage. And, the loose spare underneath the bed wobbled until I learned how to use the tire jack handle to slide into the opening as the base of the open tailgate to crank out the slack and tighten the spare back to the underside of the bed. Dad gave me the choice of it or the new Geo Metro 4 door, as they were the same price at that dealership. The Metro had 2 more doors plus the back seat, but my 20 year old ego simply couldn't go for it.

factory base, no stereo! Back in the days of GM, radio was an extra! Still be an absolute gem to own now

I bought one in high school from my dad for 400 bucks. I got extra running lights on it and a toolbox. I also got a set of AR Cyclone wheels for it. Poor thing rusted so bad I just had to junk it in 2014.
