For the next month or so I will be posting hat trick game highlights from the late 1980s through early 2010s. I'm in the process of acquiring some more 80s games, so I will circle back to those after they are edited. Hat trick playlist linked below with everything on this channel to date. ru-vid.com/group/PLBGvwexaBewgsl_p59Z8LfuwexLAQN54R
@@81OH4Z4RD Oh yeah. And since Colorado won the cup, I can't imagine no one else who can win after them. You always beat them the year before making the finals against Philadelphia or Carolina.
Didn't grow up watching hockey and this game is actually older than me, I always knew Fedorov was touted as a great skater and still flew in the late 90s and early 2000s, but man, seeing him in these highlights is like watching a player from the modern day go back in time and skate circles around a much heavier style of play. 6:40 and his breakaway goal are prime examples, looks so effortless out there.
That's a great comment. I was thinking the 2 things that stood out from back then and now was how much Fedorov was ahead of his time and that the goaltending position is night and day difference. What with the stance/style and overall size of the modern day G.
This game is 5 months and 30 days older than me. Craziest thing that jumped to mind when watching this: #5 is not Nicklas Lidström as he made his NHL debut on October 3rd of that year, exactly on the day I was born.
to think yet he has more than 7 years of losing before he'll hoist the cup in 98' but other wise Cale Makar is doing it after 160 games . just saying Maker is something special
@@junfuk One, Wings won in 1997. Two, nobody mentioned Makar. Three, this isn't even against Colorado. Not saying Makar is bad, he's extremely good, but let's see if he wins 3 straight Norris trophies twice in his career, in 6 seasons out of 7 played during that time, before we start lauding him as the best thing ever, yes?
