This generation could have won the world cup because they were all brilliant and played with passion.

the commentators were mixing up names, Alois Godzi was not in this tie and the scorer was Vitalis Takawira

kkkkk i wonder how they were really mixing up the names, a reserve keeper brenna msiska was being said to be the right back Mercedes Sibanda, maybe they were still learning international football commentary after a long time in the wilderness coz of apartheid but they went on to say, they were never given team lists

Its a pity the Zimbabwe full strength squad did not travel to Guinea and the skeleton team lost the match that would have seen Zimbabwe progress to their first African Cup of Nations finals. The players were afraid of the Ebola virus and CAF refused to have the game played on a neutral venue away from Conakry

I agree with you this Zimbabwe team was massive, they could easily won the Afcon back then

no it was the Zaire trip in 95 for the 96 afcon, this particular campaign were we beat SA in 92 was afcon (94) qualifiers, was ended by one kalusha bwalya whose header still haunts some of us to this day, the group had Zim, SA, Zambia and Mauritius & the the 94 world cup qualifiers group had Zim, Angola, Egypt and Togo.
