Rent a hiace or JDM camper off Outdoorsy and take your wife on an amazing trip with one. If you guys have a great time, I’m sure she will be excited to get one! If you have a bad time, rent an even bigger or nicer camper and repeat as necessary haha
There was never a factory fitted OM602 turbo diesel on these T1s. They came only with the non-aspirated version of OM602. Also, these T1s have almost nothing in common, as mechanics, axles, engines, etc., with the T2 vans which are the predecessors of Vario.
I had a 310D work van in 1993 it had the 2.9 5 cylinder engine no turbo, so you're probably right, there was a company in the UK called TB turbo's of Lancaster who fitted turbo's and intercoolers to many T1 vans and motor homes.
That’s not a Vario! That’s a Bremer! Bremer is the T1. The Vario is the T2n. A very different beast. A lot bigger and way higher payload. They have a very similar styling though.
Very hard to find any more in Europe. It is possible to find 207D and 208D but not 310D. I own 310D regular not Reimo or Westfalia. Are those hubcaps or aluminum wheels?
