The 91 and 92 games will always be known for the wide rights, but those are absolutely the 2 hardest hitting games I have ever seen. Classic rivalry, great video, Go Canes!!!
i remember this game as the BEST hard hitting football game ive ever seen. wish u posted the entire game. both teams just unloaded on each other. like a heavyweight title fight that actually far EXCEEDED the hype
I remember me and dad watching this game my dad cussing up a storm because Florida state was not playing well he passed away in 2013 miss you dad rest in peace
I remember I was playing pop Warner football @ this time when this game was going on, they kept announcing updating this game over the pa, thats how serious of a rival this was, man this brings back so many memories
7:13 That's Kevin Patrick paying tribute to #98 Jerome Brown who was no doubt the most dominant and old school D-lineman ever to wear orange and green. He died in June of that year. That's how deep the Miami family goes. And if you want a clear definition of Canes D, just watch the two consecutive plays at 9:56
Some of the most exciting and talented teams ever to play against each other. Every time it seems like the more exciting the game is, it is in Miami's favor.
I always wondered what would have happened that season had that kick been good. This game would have ended in a 19-19 tie since there was no overtime back then. Both teams would have ended the regular season 10-0-1, and there would have been a huge controversy over which one of them would play Alabama for the national title in the Sugar Bowl.
Marcus Ribbon if you’re talking about the stickers on the backs of the helmets that’s for JB and Shane Curry who both died in 1992. Had their old Miami numbers 98 and 44. Jerome Brown was probably the third in a great line of Miami defensive tackles from back then. Started with Jim Burt, then Kevin Fagan, JB, Cortez Kennedy, Russell Maryland, Warren Sapp.
I was at that game and I jumped out of my shoes when they missed that kick to tie wide right!! What a great series between 2 heavyweights! Miami always won the close ones!! GO CANES!!!
Armstead was unreal. One of the best LBs ever to play here. It’s a shame a injury cost him a year Dude was nasty, fast and could hit That set of LBs will never be matched
2 things I can’t believe the emotion of these teams in the 90s my god in real. The We look like statues these days. No leadship 2-. Do we even have reverse in our playbook
I grew up with Gino Torretta and played high school ball with him, it's a trip seeing old highlights of him..i remember watching this game back in the day - totally amazed and shocked that Gino was on tv lol - this clip brought back memories, thx for uploading it.
This was the year I graduated high school in Tally...being freshly moved up from Miami I was constantly mocked as a Canes fan. I can still smell the soundness from the Niles!!!😂😂😂🙌
See.. This is why college football needed a playoff back then. These were epic regular season games that meant everything. In fact who ever won these games were basically crowned champs even before the bowl game.
one thing I love more than anything is watching Florida state lose espically when they lose to the Canes & Gators my first love is Florida my 2nd love is Miami & my 3rd love is whoever beats Florida state
That return man who pitched the ball out the end zone would’ve been better off taking the safety. The ending was disastrous as it was but if Florida State had recovered, it would’ve been an illegal forward pass. Which might’ve been a safety anyway because it occurred in the end zone. Better to lose two points instead of seven.
Man they hit back then. Today’s game seems soft. Compared to this. Looking at armstead , he is amazing how sad are recruiting has fallen off PS love old uniforms cut offs
@canefreak2001 as a college football fan in general i do wish they had both sides highlights because Fsu vs Miami is such an amazing rivalry but im not stingy...so thanks for the upload.
I can't belive that a person could be stupid enough to field a punt at the one, go into his own end zone, then toss the ball out. That desveres the title "Stupid Punt Return I"
Did you read what you wrote? This is why a playoff WOULD NOT be needed. That's why this regular season game was so memorable; because it was all or nothing.
what if fsu makes the fg? it ends 19-19 no ot remember? so who plays bama? does the other one play texasanm whos undefeated ? do we get a spilt champion?
You should show the flow of the game -- much better. I'm not a fan of either 'Canes or 'Noles; just wanted to see an abridged replay of the game. Otherwise, good highlights.
0100-0112= Iowa vs Miami, September 1992. it was the first night game ever in Hawkeye Stadium. I believe the final score was 24-7 in favor of Hurricanes. It believed it was aired nationally on ABC Saturday night football. By the way, Duke used to have ugly ass uniforms during the early 90's era.
That makes no sense. Neither one of these teams won the NC in 1992. Nobody ever crowned anything before bowl games unless you are talking about the 1950's and 1960's. The bowl coalition began in 1992 to make sure they got the 2 best teams in the a bowl against each other. Before that the bowl games had conference tie ins and you rarely had #1 vs #2. In 1992 the Alabama Crimson Tide won the NC.
I wonder if fsu makes that fg it ends in a tie no overtime. The ? is fsu 10-0-1 / miami 10-0-1 and there was alabama 12--0 who would have played for the title???????????????
