@@HairMetalGuru419 thanks bro, I'm motivated again. I'm 42 and played in bands from middle school to my mid 20s. I lived the rock n roll life and am now paying for it. But I play guitar, bass and drums. I've got about,7 songs ready for recording as soon as I find a singer. My style is in the vain of warrant, 🐀, firehouse ext ext. My wife was a special edition English teacher and ESOL instructor before she became disabled. She suffered from dwarfism. 4 foot tall and 80 pounds but a much bigger person than most.

hear was an awesome record. about 6 months ago pj and steve were on the eddie trunk podcast and were part of a discussion about the end of the era. they talk pretty in-depth about the release of hear, and how it basically fell flat as mtv told them a week before the release that they would not play any videos they might release. i believe the episode was called "the wall of nirvana". totally worth checking out.

Hey Anthony I have to tell you that ever since I first started watching your videos about a month ago I notice how much you are like my friend Brent a guy who lives near me in burien, Washington. He is a total metal head. He even has long rocker hair. He has always talked to me with great fan enthusiasm about metal music from the '70s, '80s, and '90s. So there is something about the way you talk about it with enthusiasm, your communication style and even the way you say fuc5 is the way he says it so in an exasperated way, all these things are like him. So because of these commonalities between you guys listening to your videos always gives me great comfort and pleasure because you really remind me of him.

I got one that most people wouldn't even think of. I never even heard of them until I saw them open up for Vince Neil on his solo 'Exposed' tour. Songs like "I Want Some of That", "Wishing Well", and "Raintown" are some of the really good tunes. Other CDs in 92 I love include Southgang "Group Therapy" and Slaughter "The Wild Life" to name just a couple. Great channel!

I know people are split on this album, but I thought it was a masterpiece: Extreme - III Sides To Every Story Also not really Hair Metal but: King's X- King's X Faith No More- Angel Dust Iron Maiden- Fear of the Dark Ugly Kid Joe's- America's Least Wanted is definitely one of the most underrated albums that came out that year. I figured they were going to be the next big thing until the shift happened in the industry. As for the song Busy Bee, it was played quite a bit on the local radio in the small town where I lived at the time. 1992 overall was probably the best year for rock and metal music since it was one of the only years hair metal was still big alongside the rise of alternative and grunge metal (that and Dream Theater getting noticed 😁). You are completely right that some of these hair metal bands would have continued to stay big if the record companies and media didn't drop them like a lead balloon. Unfortunately, there was also a lot rehashed garbage at that point as well; as is usually the case for any genre of music after a certain point.
@patrickreeves4650
@patrickreeves4650 Месяц назад
angel dust was one of the finest releases of the year in 1992. shocked their fan base that only enjoyed epic. so different, and so heavy in parts that was unexpected after how hooky the first record with patton was. that album still sounds fresh today, and was influential to a lot of bands that came out in the mid-2000's. back in my college days (1998-2002), i was posting on the old metal edge message board, and jim martin posted something. i wound up exchanging email's with him for a good few months back then. he was farming pumpkins (true story!) and wound up being interviewed about it on the local news in california back then (which is on youtube). anyway, he was super friendly and answered all sorts of questions about the albums he was on. he also released a solo album (milk and blood) and also was really tight with the metallica guys, and other bands from the bay area. anyway, angel dust was super bad ass.

Great video guys! Plenty of honorable mentions - I hope you look into part 2. I think the following were good ones too: W.A.S.P. - Crimson Idol Lynch Mob - Lynch Mob House of Lords - Demons Down Just to touch a little bit on the silly immature or inappropriate lyrics at the time, some of these bands had written those songs when they were way younger and years prior to the releases. Some of them had to wait years to get signed by a record label and like you mentioned, some of them may have been rushed to get something out and they didn’t have any more material at the time. Anyway, the hair/glam metal genre is fascinating IMO. Lots of “what ifs” especially during the late 80s/early 90s transition, maybe more than any other genre. 🔥🎸🤘🏻

1) jesse harte was brought in by warrant in 1993 after jani left, and was offered the gig in warrant, however harte was convinced by his management that he could get a solo deal with a decent label and make more money with his own songs. personally, i think harte in warrant would have been terrible. 2) always loved the record double eclipse from hardline. it had everything the hard rock fan would ever want. to me, it encapsulates something i call "baywatch music". you could just imagine any of those songs appearing on an episode of baywatch! 3) trixter - hear was released late 1992, and was dead on arrival...but a great album 4) widowmaker (dee snider) - blood and bullets was out in 1992, and had an amazing ballad called "calling for you". albums was okay, but that ballad was one of the best.

As someone who spent every weekend from 88-93 either on a SoCal beach or the Sunset Strip, the stories I could tell would make you laugh in some cases, blow your mind in others, and totally disgust you in at least a few. Those aren't just song lyrics. A lot of those, Rock Queen, Rob the Cradle and Seventeen for sure, are musical interpretations of true stories. Even for those who were just band adjacent (like me), that was how those weekends went, and I wouldn't change it even if it meant getting the ones who didn't survive back.
