@@willzuehlke37 Later N*s made more power than this, and if he, say, removes the rear seats... Keep in mind that maintained properly and with larger head studs they're plenty reliable.
I sold my 95 Cadillac sedan Deville with a 4.9L V8 to fix my 95 Cadillac Deville concours because I love the northstar more than I like the port fuel injected 4.9L and I’d walk the both of them but I’m doing work on mine but I’m not going to talk smack cause they are both good cars
Northstar is fine except for the whole "pulls the head bolts out of the block and overheats / warps heads" thing. Unfortunately 95 was third year for N* and second for N* in the DeVille, meaning you have the highest chance for the motor to bend itself apart. Past that, you can put new head bolts and new heads in, and as long as you do it right they'll last another decade or two. At least your gearbox is good. 4T80E is pretty legendary.
