Awesome vid! Love seeing some of the old names. I pulled one of the triple Joe Juneaus 1/1 from this set. Its in one of my videos from a few months ago. This cards are so undervalued. Gonchar and Timmonen should book for a bit more.

Upper Deck drove me nuts as a kid with the cards not facing the same direction. If you were opening baseball you would be standing in a pile of hologram stickers too.

For 15 bucks you can't really go wrong with that. Just seeing all those older players is nice, I remember opening it when it was new. Awesome video!

I gotta say, that's a sharp looking box. Woulda caught my attention quite easily! Fantastic break. That's a lot of cards in there! It's also great to see cards with a different picture on the front and back! A lot of the newer stuff are just getting lazy nowadays!

I completely agree. There are too many Prism, Donruss, or Panini cards nowadays, and they don't put in the effort to create beautiful cards like we had in the '90s. They used to have double-sided designs and especially featured stunning photos, not just athletes against a not-so-great background. I've been really disappointed with the Donruss NASCAR series in 2023. All we get is a photo of the driver where you can only see the upper body and head. There are maybe ten car cards and nothing more. Apart from Prism and Optic, which are also quite repetitive, I find Donruss cards too similar to each other. We don't get to see the athletes in full action anymore. I'm really let down by the current cards, which is why I only focus on the cards from the '90s and '99s.

I believe they did them 90/91 up until 93/94, then stopped and picked them back up in the late 90's. could be wrong though!

@@TheHabsGuy a card shop around my area had a box. I bought about 6 boxes of hockey from tye early 90s. I got this, and some opc premier from 91, 3 boxes of 90 score, and 2 boxes of 91 ud. They were fun to open. I started collecting hockey in 1990 so it brought me back to my beginning. So being a big Blackhawks fan i was able to get some Roenicks out of pack which was alot of fun.

@@TheHabsGuy I agree if you want a really fun unboxing that are cheap get a couple boxes of 91-92 opc premier. They are fun to open plus you are pulling Lidstrom, Amonte, Leclair, Konstantinov, and Waite rcs. Plus alot of great 2nd year cards in there

I loved this year of UD hockey, best looking set they produced in ( reg UD ) the photos were awesome, I dont think any reg sets they make even today can stack up to how this set looks. may buy a few boxes just because

Value City in the 90s carried hobby and jumbo boxes of 93-94 UD Series 1 in their stores for $9.99 to $14.99. I had to go to the card shows to purchase series 2.

I opened some boxes in the past. The World Junior logos would be on located on some of the base cards. Rare inserts were not generally worth very much, even though they were cool and tough to pull.

@@TheHabsGuy I believe you could get Kariya, Pronger, Gonchar, Koivu, Timmonen and other really solid RCs here. What I don't understand is everyone claims how mass produced these years were as the reason that the RCs don't have value. Does that mean in 10-20 years the McDavid will have 0 value? That year was also mass produced. Much like the cards you just opened, when they were released the RCs had great value. Makes you wonder how things will turn out.

Yep, 20 years ago these rookies were sought after and valuable, cards produced now won't be worth anything in another 20 years, the same as these. People collecting hockey cards in 2040 or even 2050 will be like who are some of these players from 2020?
