LOL Sporting! As an Austrian football fan this one can nearly make you crying because of proudness, joy and happiness! This team was just amazing! What a character, coming back in the second half from 0:2 on aggregate, scoring with one man down in the injury time and one more in extra time against such a European Top Class team by that time at this stage. You guys were very lucky! Our team had better players and a better team than you guys, but they lacked of attitude in some games. 2 years after, the same thing happened with Rapid Wien, for the same reasons.

De terceiro guarda-redes do Boavista a titular do Sporting numa questão de dias. Ainda era muito inexperiente na altura e o Sporting pagou caro. Ele conseguiu estar em duas eliminações do Sporting por equipas austríacas!
