We start in Le Grand with a westbound auto rack train powered by a CNW SD40-2 and a UP C30-7. In Marshalltown we see a high nose GP7 with a string of box cars. West of Marshalltown an SD50 (7009 now preserved at the Illinois Railway Museum) and SD60 lead a westbound mixed freight that includes a Wonder Bread Pressure Differential covered hopper and a B&O gondola. An eastbound intermodal zips by. Near Lamoille we see the mixed train again, this time in what sounds like full dynamic breaking. Another eastbound intermodal zips by powered by a single UP Dash 8. We see that mixed freight again between Lamoille and State Center, just east of State Center, east of Nevada and one last time in Ames. Bringing up the rear of this video is an eastbound mixed freight with an SD60 and SD50 for power. A Bangor & Aroostook box car is spotted in this train.
