@@mandarraorane Renovations. SCG was pretty long in straight boundaries. The sight screen used to be inside the playing ground . Then they brought forward the boundaries in all grounds for this change. SCG and Adelaide were always smaller in comparison to other Gs. They became even shorter after initial sight screen construction and kept becoming shorter and shorter after years of fiddling with stands to accommodate more people

@@techBuffy Thank u so much for your explanation, I remember in the 90s Ansett Australia test series where players used to run 4 runs, but it's difficult to find it these days. Runs are easily scored, for me 90s were the golden years of cricket as each and every team had great players including WI, SL and ZIm, The boundary and fence were the same and there was equal competition between bat and ball..
@techBuffy
@techBuffy Месяц назад
@@mandarraorane yes pretty much. In Australian grounds like MCG you can still run 4 in Tests and that’s about it . Rough boundaries meant ball got scuffed up and there was early spin and reverse swing

@BulldogDynasty 2 года назад
I agree and it was like two dominant era's crossed over literally in the middle. The Jones Years was coming to an end and Mark Waugh's top order domination was beginning. It showed in the partnership. As well as Jones played Waugh dominated the partnership and strike-rate of the pair. Seeing them two together when Jones' peak was coming to a close and Waugh's not long starting was good to witness. Great ODI top order batsmen both of them.

Most irate thing was Siddhu's commentary.. Gautam Bhimani as a presenter was good, as was Harsha Bhogle. Most disappointing was Sunny G, with all that Knowledge, he would call a hook , as a pull. An on drive as straight drive. The glance a flick and so on. That was 2003 tour by India. The 1999 feed had original commentary only. Channel 9 commentary had Bill L, Tony G, M Taylor, I Healy and R Benaud. All Legendary and all with perfect voices that fitted commentary. That said India have worst commentators. Considering the south African bowling attack, pith in Australia this Mark Waugh inning shows he was the best batsman in one day format in 1994. In test cricket Lara was the best 1994-95 when he scored 375 and 501*. Waugh made it look so easy - pace bowling of Donald n others. Amazing ..
