I was watching an old ZR1 video. You should try MTF transmission lube for your 5 gear issue. Jay Leno turned me into this stuff. It's called Manual Transmission Fluid.
Oh yeah I forgot they put that OHC engine in the corvette, I used to work at King's Speed Shop, Corvette speed shop in Lansing Illinois, way back in the late 80's. Anybody remember that place???
The water going thru the throttle body causes corrosion issues at the painted finish and maybe the throttle plate. The benefit of coolant going thru is anti-icing at freezing temps but nobody drives these cars in below freezing temps and low temperature testing indicates frost isn't really an issue, so why not just eliminate the coolant flow.
