Thank you for the video I'm working on my 1995 F150 4-wheel drive and the reason why I'm working on it my Raiders support rotted out and I have some frame issues cracks and most runaways upside down I haven't got to that problem yet but thank you for the video
So frustrating to watch all these videos re: replacing 88 - 97 F-series radiator support and no paints the new replacement radiator panels. The black E-coat primer is for shipping only and doesn't provide any rust protection, particularly long term. Most radiator support videos I've watched has tons of rust issues. Always paint your new parts! Paint is the best remedy for future rust!
Mines pained with spraymax 2k primer color matched base coat and then spraymax 2k matte clear Downfall i painted a 7.3L support that had a gas engine label.. So now ive cut the rad bushing brackets out of my 4.9L support to mount in the larger support
My 1990 Ford Ranger is now my project, I paid someone about $400 to work out some rust spots, but they came back a year later. What exactly did you do to ensure a permanent fix? What kind of preventative measures? It seems to me like your F-150 is still running strong with no rust since you fixed it. Thank you!
watched ur vids im on a budjet to get mine back on road for inspection so instead of paying rdiculas prices for a body mount kit i used hocky pucks and large factory washer and new washers and new bolts it worked great and alignment went well hood and fenders doors all line up nice i got a 150 dollar core suport and 12 dollars in hocky pucks and 11 dollars in bolts it was most affordable rout for me lower hocky puck had to be screwed to a board and hole sawed to 2 3/4 diameter and fit rite into pocket looks jst like a after market mount
+mecanicman66 Sorry I missed your post.... I don't remember exactly how much the rad support cost, I'm thinking a couple hundred dollars is what I spent. If I remember right it seemed rather expensive but I had to get one.
When you used the energy suspension bushings on that core support did it have the pentagon shaped bushings or did you have to mash a round bushing in the pentagon hole on the bracket
Here is the link to Wesley Cole's video on doing the Radiator Support. He did a real nice job and I suggest you take a look at his video if you are going to be doing this. 1992-1996 F Series Radiator Support Replacement Guide
I don't remember what it cost now, I would think I would have said in the vid but maybe not. I'm thinking it was around $300??? I think I got mine from lmctruck.com
