1994 - The First Mobile Smart Phone 

I was the head of Alliance Communication at General Magic, the company that made this very early cell phone. The company did not succeed but at the time, watching an ad like this on TV was kind of like watching the first time any of us saw a cell phone. For me that was when President Bush 1 used it at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984 and we saw it on TV.
