You can say this about all VW EA827 Engines. These old 4 Zylinders(Gas and Diesel from 1.4 up to 2.0 L) are the most reliable and easiest to maintain Engines VW ever made. I own a 1993 Golf Mk3 GT Special with the 90 HP 1.8 Engine. Has enough Power for the weight of only 1050 kg, low Gas Consuption, it´´s really fun to drive and barelly cost any Money to keep runing.
@@1.9tdilove71 Mainly i use a full synthetic oil and i do the maintenance every 9000-10 000 km plus i changed the coolant every 4 years when i bought the car it had 200 000 km on it so yeah trouble free motoring
@@BMWMPOWER375 2007 when it was pretty much only CR.. Plenty of good PD TDIs manufactured to that point. Even AGR engine was manufactured as late as 2004!
love these cars and engines. i own a Golf MK3 TDI 1z engine. today i have reach 584.000km original engine no replacement, or major repairs. body is rusting but engine runs like new despite 26 years old🤗 thank God for this reliable VW. 1.6 and 1.9 VE diesel best engine VW ever made!!!!
That's a shame we don't have these good diesel engines in passenger cars here in Brazil. This 1.9 TDI seems to be very reliable, and the sound it makes is perfect. Hope it sees the roads again.
it won't you don't see how rusty underbody is? In Europe that is unacceptable and cars rusted like that can't be registered or legally driven on public streets. This thing is a death trap
My Passat B5, built 28.12.2000, also has the 1.9 tdi engine (AHH 66kW/90hp) and still runs with its sloppy 371,500 km like a Swiss movement. MOT without Problems 👍🏻💪🏻
I'm amazed at how quick it fired up and how smooth it ran. It took 10ish seconds of cranking to fire after 15 years. Cranked evenly too, which hints that the compression didn't take much of a hit over the years, or at least degraded evenly.
Man she runs mighty fine for sitting for so long. Makes me wonder why people don’t just fix these cars up and sell them for an affordable price, like those old diesels are indestructible. Underside is clean, interior needs work but man this is a good running car.
20 years before, my dad had also a 1.9 TDI Biker. I loved that car. That's the reason why I bought a B4 Variant last year, but now with the 2.0 16V (ABF) engine. Beautiful engine!
Had one of these, it was a 94 2.0 8v GL trim. It was absolutely huge inside, the ride was super comfy with velour seats. Didn't use much fuel either, averaged 8 l/100 km.
@@sv_cheats1970 I also had one like this, no station wagon, 2.0 GL 115 HP and it was 7.5 l/100 km. On plane roads at 90 km/h It could be 6l/100km or less
@@sv_cheats1970 having bought an Audi A6 C5 with a 2.0 20V which averaged 11-12 l/100 km right after the Passat I see where you are coming from. Both engines were only 15 HP apart and the Audi didn't feel much faster either so there you go.
yeah right 8l from 2.0 8v N/A gasoline engine. Tell your lies to someone else. I also had Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 V6 turbo and it would be a straight lie if I said that it didn't drink 16l/100 km in city traffic.
believe it or not, in all my 6 cars i had so far i had only tdi engines. Passat b5, Audi A6 C6, Skoda Octavia 2 FL, Passat b6 CR, Seat Leon 1M, Passat b6 PD.. Just pure love towards german engineering
I have watched many of your videos but I never got to know, what is your plan on making all these cars run again after say 15 years+ of doing nothing? Great videos anyway, I'm a VW fan but those old engines are still the best!
No, thats the great thing about the Videos from Flexiny, there is no talking. Just the noises of the engineer and the working on the Cars. Show dont tell
Watching this video, I clearly think of some happy German family having bought this car long ago, driving it to the country to spend the weekend, taking children to grandma, or whatever... Quite fascinating and blue at the same time, heh. By the way, 200k km is by far not much for it - I expected it to be around 500k.
Sadly I can't do it soon because we have cold weather here and mud everywhere at moment. If i'd do detailing video about it then this car needs welding and some paintwork.
J'aime vos vidéos , qu'elle facilité pour vous de remettre en route ces moteur qui n'ont plus tourner depuis plusieurs années, que faites-vous de ses voitures une fois les moteurs remis en route ?
