I hate to be “that guy” but man a Sahara that was actually in decent condition like that one is getting really hard to come by. The seats were reupholstered unfortunately because the green ones are super rare. As well as all the green and gray interior again getting hard to come by. A stock base model Jeep would have been better to do this to. Probably could have made money off selling the Sahara parts and gotten base model parts to repaint and reupholster.
Naw man. This Jeep was from a time when the Sahara name actually meant something. In addition to being the trim level used in Jurassic Park (spared no expense), it was the top of the line for the YJ. It offered features not found in the base Jeep line. Cloth seats? In a Jeep? Almost unheard of during that time. There were also not very many of these Jeeps made. They were a rare sight. Not like today, where every other Wrangler you see on the road has the Sahara name on it. And, you're right, now, it is just a name. There is nothing about the Fiat Jeeps that makes the Sahara name stand out; not tan top, no green trailcloth interior, no Moss Green paint job. Back then, it meant so much more.
@@christhornton8219 Agreed Chris, for those of us who know it seems like the only part of the Sahara line that stayed true is the fender flare are still painted the same color as the jeep. I am in the process of restoring my 91 Sahara and my daughter ask if we could paint it yellow. Being a jeep guy I said we will find you another jeep we can build and paint it whatever color you like. My goes back to like when I bought it new with a few mods ( 2.5" lift, New LED lights, Better bumpers and i'm sure some more things will come up)
Any one here with negative comments rethink what you put. His project not yours face it it cost a lot of money to do anything now a days they didn't give him the parts time and money people are jealous and I'm a proud owner of a 1989 yj I've owned it since I was 15 years old my first car my Dad bought in1992 and I still have it very fun to drive it gets in the blood
How long did it take you to fully restore your YJ. I have a 92 YJ and looking to do some upgrades myself. Also if you don't mind me asking how much did it cost you to do all of it?
It was lookin promising right up to 08:50. Those ugly ass rims. The stock ones were wayyyyy better. Please consider changin them back or to something else!
I would have put whatever the guy wanted on there and did, lol. There all kinds of wheels. I put these wheels on another one I did. www.restoridesusa.com/new-index
Look at the Red Jeep Vid - there is also another jeep the customer wanted those Dick Cepeks on there too, also a green Jeep. Bottom line is unless I am doing it myself, I put what the customer wants on there. Thanks
PLEASE READ!!!!!, I’m a subscriber with a 1998 Jeep tj wrangler the same one you’ve posted in the past the same green and everything sport 4.0, I needed help on knowing where did you get that green
Great job on the restore but the Chrome is awful and you plasti-dipped all the interior, that won't hold up long. Congrats on the build though, overall it looks good.
With the exception of the square headlights...the YJ's are really the last of the truly great Jeeps. Find yourself a 95 like I did and enjoy the galvanized steel body and the legendary 4.0L inline six engine. They certainly don't make them like they used to.
