Sweet Video! I’m turning 15 1/2 here in April and even though I have a 83 C/10 Shortbed I’ve owned for 5 years and I did an LS 5.3 swap in, my dad and I agree that I need another vehicle I can daily drive to school with space for my backpack and all the stuff we carry as high school students. I’ll still keep my C/10 but my father and I really have been searching for a 2nd Gen 4Runner as they look cool but have the reliability that Toyotas are famous for.
nice review man 🔥 I like when you said the ECT power on makes you feel a little better, i agree i feel way more capable with the raised shift points 😂😁 Awesome 4runner too, very clean!!!
I'm thinking of buying an old 4Runner in Australia as a beach vechile. Chuck boards in hit the beach etc. I've been looking at a nice red one and my name is Kevin... Is this a sign? Haha. Nice review and I hope you had plenty of good trips in it.
People who don’t use the 4x4 in there vehicle should buy 2 wheel drives. And save the 4x4 ones for people who actually want to take them off road!🙄🤦♂️ But other than that great video👍 went into great detail
Mine had a problem with the radiator fan clutch that caused it to overheat. It took 5 visits for the dealer to figure out and fix. I was exactly the same as this one.
Mine just blew the engine at 280k. Saving to buy a rebuilt engine atm. Breaks necks when on the road I gotta say. 2" lift front and rear, 32's, roof rack with spare tire on top, traction boards, awning, 42" led bar and 14" led bar, custom steel front bumper, and CB radio antenna on the rear. Check her out on my IG @Tvco562
@@subtegral you guys are just ungrateful people be here not even changing their engine oil and even puttin up 200k-300k miles and the engine works fine lol
Hey bro looking into getting one of these for myself! What mileage would you suggest? I’ve seen some from 150k-300k. Want it to be able to last at least 5 years hopefully. Also what price was yours, thanks man!
Great, I would suggest get the lowest of mileage you can but also mainly look for the condition of the body and interior that’s the expensive part to have someone fix. To give you a number buy one at 200k miles roughly these things will last forever as long as the previous owner has done the appropriate maintenance, timing belt, water pump, oil change, etc; if the previous owner didn’t do that it’s not the end of the world it’s just something that needs to be done to drive 5 plus years worry free. As for price don’t over pay but also do your research price vary between areas of the country and condition also these suvs had many options. I recommend to find one with 4.88 gearing mine has it and it is a towing package which is kinda rare to find and definitely try to get the sr5 package and also if you can get one with locking hubs in the front for the 4x4 if you can’t it’s ok and gold emblems it was another package that had to be special ordered it really gives the classic look to the 4Runner. Thank you
Hey whats up man. I have the same truck just 1992 except your is in way better condition. Lucky man you are. Anyway i wanted to ask you, what specific phone holder is that? I need one for mine
Just got A 91’ runner with 138k, only 500 miles on the rebuilt engine. So many things have been replaced, fuel pump/filter, plugs/wires, cap/rotor, injectors, battery, air sensor, tps(and adjusted to 12), water pump, oil pump, timing belt, air filter, new fluids and radiator and previous owner claimed the auto trans was looked at and check out good. With this being said, Im getting horrible gas mileage and power, and sometimes engine sounds like it’s misfiring, or even Choking out at low speeds. Getting about 150 miles out of the 15gal tank. At this point it looks like the previous guy didn’t adjust the valves because it has the typical ticking issue. Does anyone know what’s going on?
Money seeker Trucks to start with don’t get to good of gas mileage, but I get about 150-200 miles per tank. I would say 14 miles per gallon city and about 19 miles per gallon highway. Also depending on the mileage on the engine but the gas mileage isn’t too bad for me.
When you buy the truck new you could buy the gold logos as an added trim. The package was expensive for gold logos most people didn’t buy them so it’s kinda rare and cool to have them now.
