HOLY CRAP, a full-on blast of nostalgia just struck me like a sheet of bricks. I haven't seen or even thought of these in SO VERY LONG....why are they not still around?! They were amazing! I remember the commercials, and how I used to eat 'em...the little cardboard rectangles, the shapes...! ;___; AAUURGH!! So much good stuff has been discontinued. At least Gushers, Fruit by the Foot, Fruit Roll-Ups, and other unique fruit snacks still survive the ravages of time...
i remember this commercial too well, i was in 6th grade when it was always shown on tv this is the first time i've seen it since then even though it always pops into my head randomly 20 years later, i can't believe it's on youtube
@davidschristmasgiftstoyou3304 Yeah, too much sugar, which, as a grown man, I've been making healthier choices. Besides, look at Bear Fruit Rolls, which is a much better and healthier choice for a fruit snack due to containing no added sugars, no preservatives, and only four ingredients, nothing else. 💪💪💪
i remember these things!! used to have them all the time! i was like 5. i miss them. i also miss Incredibites those mini granola bar bites in a little bag like fruit snacks.
I think I either had one every day at lunch or after school snack, but I remember having these. The only real competition to Twizzlers Pull-n-peel. Pretty good. Going through commercials like theses, I find myself continually saying "Oh my God" and "Hey I remember that!"
This feels almost as cool as rediscovering Hidden Treasures cereal a couple weeks ago, after YEARS of hunting and scouring and searching and questioning, and wondering whether I might not be insane for remembering it...8-0
omg I looked forward to string thing every recess at 10:15. I never made funny shapes out of them since I was too eager to just take it out of the spiral shape and just eat it :D
IDEA: A really really long one fruit by the foot but it's more like string! Three days later: I had no idea this was made in it and already discontinued
Do they still make these things? Is this thing under a different name or sold under a generic name but can still be purchased at a walgreens or some thing?
@dale0038 Do they still make the special flavored 7-Ups in Canada? My brother used to get a pineapple flavored one when he went up to Montreal. I also saw Raspberry 7-Up in Toronto back in the early 90s that I regret not getting.
twingy thing, dangling thing, curly mop thing, spinning top thing, a jumping up and down thing, twist it all around thing, tickle your tongue thing, tasty thing,
@tytyty784 Wow. I was up in PEI back in 1997 & loved it. Have been planning to go back ever since but it never happened yet. I think that was the year they opened the Confederation Bridge, which we took.
My theory of why fruit string thing doesn't exist anymore Probably because of kellogg's version fruit twistables it was even more successful in the end fruit twistables got popular while fruit string thing faded
sweet mother of macaroni I remember these... and P.B. Crisps, and Amazin' Fruit Gummi Bears and Dunkaroos and Gushers..... Where did all the good 90's candy go?
Hey is it crazy that I still fiend for string thing to this day??? I swear, they must have had crack as a main ingredient. Not a day goes by that I don't think about String Thing.
